The votes are in and final, and here we announce the Players of the Week and Rookies of the Week for Week 12, as well as the Players and Rookies of the Month for December!

East POTW – Avery Bradley

Out East the POTW voting was a mostly Brooklyn affair with Avery Bradley beating out DeMarcus Cousins for POTW with 33%of the 1^st place votes. Bradley was phenomenal in the Nets 3-1 week which included wins over the lowly Griz and Warriors, but also the Bucks, while pushing the 76ers to an OT thriller in which they came up 2 points short. He averaged 30.3 points, 5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 2 steals and 0.8 blocks while shooting it 52% from the field and 44% from deep. This week comes way out of the blue for Bradley as there weren’t any real line-up changes and he’s been consistently shooting this well for a while now, but he doubled his attempts, so must have simply been in a more aggressive frame of mind. He has managed 25 points a game in 2 separate weeks this year, but he’s usually a teens scorer. The Nets like what they have in Avery though and would hope for more of this side of Avery going forward. Congratulations Avery Bradley on POTW for Week 12!

West POTW – Andre Iguodala

Out West it was a true crap fight for the award this week with Andre Iguodala taking a 1 point win over Danny Green, claiming 40% of the 1^st place votes. The Lakers went 3-1 in the week including taking down the red hot Celtics, and the only blemish coming to the bi-polar Thunder. Iggy was the leader of the continued rolling by the Lakers dropping 25 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks a game while turning it over only 1.3 times and shooting it 53% from the field. As always, his FT shooting let him down at only 63%, but who cares when you’re doing what he is! He helps anchor the D for the Lakers and has really set himself to be their best player in the title defence. Congratulations Andre Iguodala on POTW for Week 12!

West ROTW – Devin Booker

The DRuss stranglehold on the West ROTW award has come to a close as his teammate Devin Booker claimed nearly half the 1^st place votes to take out the award over his 5x winning backcourt mate. The Clips went 2-2 this week with Booker being no small part of that and he put up averages of 15.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks on 52% shooting in his first starting week of the season. He’s slowly got better and better through the year after GM Andrew had big things to say about him from day dot, and any critics of the pick are probably already serving up their respective hats for dinner. East ROTW – Myles Turner

With hands down ROTW winner Kristaps Porzingis playing so well this week he got nominated for POTW instead (he was top 5 efficiency in the NLL last week), the pickings were fairly slim out East so fellow Hornets Myles Turner and Mario Hezonja battled it out. Turner claimed 50% of the 1^st place votes, Hez 40%, and Turner claimed the award by 2 points over his teammate. The rookie has been starting at C for the Hornets since returning from injury and put up 7 points, 9.3 reobounds, 0.8 assists, 0.3 steals and 0.8 blocks but did struggle from the field (41%) and line (60%) showing he still is raw and needs to keep working. He’s shown a vast array of talent already though, and while he’s not as far along as some of the crop, he’s sure added to the hope for the future for the Hornets along with his fellow rookies as the Hornets continue to #TrustTheProcess and work towards becoming an NLL dynasty.
