NLL Insider - Round 3, Cavaliers 2, Warriors 1

by dunadan, updated on Tuesday, March 15 2016, 09:11 am EST

Game 3, Warriros 112, Cavs 106 -  The NBA Warriors go out in style, avoiding a sweep against the NLL Cavs.

Must see: @ Iggy dunk

Neverteless they were 0-3 against the NLL's three top teams, going 2-7. Their style of play simply doesn't translate to 2k14, despite them being the top rated team in the game. Maybe 2k16 will bring some change next season.

Game 2, Cavs 115, Warriros 111 - Close, but again not enough for the Dubs.

The Warriors actually held a small lead halfway throught he fourth, but couldn't withstand the Cavs late surge.

Here is the final matchup between the NLL and the NBA. Cavs vs Warriors. The rematch for last year's NBA Finals for Lebron. But with a whole different supporting cast. Judging from the previous two rounds the Warriors will have their hands full to win a single game. But who knows, the Cavs have been up and down lately.

Andrew Bogut vs. Andre Drummond

In the NBA, Drummond has exploded this season. Here Drummond he has been steady on the boards for the last three seasons, always among league leaders.

But offensively he has stagnated. His efficiency, although still very good, has gone down these last two seasons. At 62% he is however a much better free-throw shooter than his NAB counterpart.

Edge: Tie, since neither is a big part of their team's offense.

Draymond Green vs. Serge Ibaka

Ibaka's FG% has dropped by 9% from last season. While he is now shooting a three any other game, those attempts are not enough to cause the decline by themselves. He is simply missing shots he over the last five seasons.

His rebounds are also down by 2 per game. Maybe Ibaka's regressing towards the norm is reason the Cavs no longer utterly dominating

Edge: Tie.in his current state Serge is pretty much the same player as Green, despite the height advantage,

Andre Iguodala vs. Lebron James

Lebron's NLL and NBA rank are quite in sync right now. He started out slow in the NLL and has gradually worked his way up, but he seems unable to get higher than #4. Currently he is #6 in both rankings.

For the first time since 2010/11 and only the second time in his career he is shooting below 50% from the filed. His rebounds are up, offsetting the slacking Ibaka, but his assists are slightly down as well. His foul ratio is only matched by his rookie and sophomore campaign. Is 2kBron really slowing down? The numbers say he is.

Edge: Cleveland. Bron still stands heads and shoulders over any small forward not named Durant.

Klay Thompson vs. Terrence Ross

Ross is having a career season in the NLL. Career highs across the boards are the result of moving from sixth man into the starting five. Advanced stats suggest he is the Cav's second most important player.
+/- dips from +7.7 with him on the court into negative with him on the bench.

Edge: Golden State. Despite Ross emergence, he still has ways to go before he reaches the level of a Klay Thompson.

Stephen Curry vs. Tony Parker

Except for three-point shooting, TP is duplicating last season's stats almost exactly. A PG shooting 50% is something most team's can only dream of. Even his TS% is slightly better than Stephs.

Edge: Tie. As tough as it may seem for Curry fans, NLL Parker is his equal.

Benches

Amare and Thomas Robinson are overrated 2k players. The key for Cleveland will be to have Stephenson and Stuckey in action in the back-court. With these two they are clearly better than anything the Dubs can throw against them.

Edge: Cavs

Overall: The Cav's overall depth is better and of course this is the team that won three straight not so long ago. They are also only 5-5 recently, but they will get up for this one for sure. They don't want to be the only ones losing this matchup.

Game one, will kick off tomorrow morning.
