NLL Insider - Game Two Review CAVvBOS by Rootsey, updated on Friday, May 20 2016, 09:16 pm EST So the game 1 review was so highly
thought of, it vanished into thin air. Well guess what peoples? That
just means I can type up the same spin I put in the last article, add in
some game two stats and wham bam. Story Time. Now there is another
reason I can type a similar story to the first game, any guesses? ...
That's right its because it was the same factors playing out over again,
this time with a slightly different result. The best players in the
league go head to head, and it came down to the weakest link in the
starting lineup being the difference.
Cast your mind back
to game 1, Lebron lead the show for the Cavs, putting up a double
double and throwing in 6 assists, Tony Parker smashed out some points
and assists and the surprise overtime hero was Terrence Ross. For the
Celtics it was the Durant and Ariza show with a strong showing from the
front court and Ty Lawson just shooting carp. Moving onto game
two, what do we see. Durant took over this game and was abley helped in
the front court by Al Horford and Nicholas Vucevic who turned the tables
on the rebounding game dominating Drummond and Ibaka (55-43) as opposed
to the first game where we saw Cleveland have the advantage (59-43). Ty
Lawson also found his shooting stroke notching 17pts on 66% shooting.
For the Cavs Lebron couldn't keep up with on 19 points, and Parker
picked up the slack with 37 on over 50% shooting. Terrence Ross and
Serge Ibaka went to dinner the night before and forgot they had a game,
with 23points and 9 rebounds between them. For those who didn't
read my game 1 analysis, it was really really good, except for my
mocking GM jmac's call that Lebron, Parker, and Ross wouldn't shoot over
55% every game. I was of the opinion that Lebron and Parker score a
majority of their points in the paint (shown by their total of 2 3pt
shots in game 1), and no one on the Celtics were going to stop them
getting to the paint at will. Now it didn't come to fruition in this
second game with Lebron getting SHUT DOWN (by Lebron standards) by
Trevor Ariza. So where did my game 1 analysis go right? Points
in the Paint and Rebounding were my other two calling cards to victory
and both were in favour of the victor in both games. Where do we go from
here? Cleveland! Who's going to win? Umm I'll get back to you. This
is going to be the best series (save DENvDAL) with the two best players
in the league going head to head, with both games decided by overtime. Go Sports!
