NLL Insider - Den v Dal -- Nuggets Strike Back by djdrew, updated on Thursday, May 19 2016, 06:30 pm EST Game
2 of this series saw the Denver Nuggets level the playing field with a
statement win-- a 110-95 win that leveled the series at 1-1 and showed
that these two teams are about as evenly matched as they come.
The
Nuggets spread the ball around, having an extremely balanced attack
with 6 players scoring in double figures , likely thanks to an
impressive 19 point, 11 assist game from point man John Wall. GM
Rootsey's pre-game adjustments seem to work just fine, as while Otto
Porter didn't necessarily have an outstanding game, he was able to
contest some of the shots Thaddeus Young was taking, causing Young to
have an off night and leading the Mavericks to struggle.
The
Nuggets were pretty dominant on both ends, winning the rebounding
battle, as well as edging the Mavericks in fast break points, bench
points, points in the paint and second chance points. Definitely a
bounce back game for the team, and one where the Mavericks will need to
push back to find their rhythm again.
In
Game 3, both GMs seem content to hold steady as far as their lineups
are concerned as the series moves to Denver, and the Nuggets seemingly
smell blood after their performance in Game 2 gave some much needed
confidence to their fans that the momentum that they have been carrying
over will push forward and give them the advantage.
As
predicted, this series seems to swing on the rebounding and bench
factors, as the starting lineups on both sides are pretty evenly
matched. Who will take the upper hand going into Game 4? Tune in
tomorrow morning to find out! |
