Howard, who plays for the Portland Trailblazers, finished with 8 first place votes, with a total of 50 points.
Howard finished the season with 12.9 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocks per game. He was first in the league in rebounds per game, first in defensive rebounds per game and 7th overall in blocks per game.
The Blazers acquired Howard in a major trade with the Denver Nuggets at the beginning of the season. He is currently playing against his former team in the playoffs.
