That was a roller coaster of a game if I ever saw one!
Here is the boxscore of Game 3 of the Finals, which proves
my point on its own:
Q1 – 30-22
- BOS
Q2 – 38-24 -
LAL
Q3 – 30-28 – BOS
Q4 – 33-24 – LAL
In a surprising move, GM Jmac elected to GO with Taj Gibson
on the starting 5 and bringing Horford off the bench, a move which was clearly
designed to add more toughness to the second unit and try to equalize the
impact of rebounds on the game and its differential against LA.
For that particular stat, it did work, because Boston won
the rebounding battle against the tough Lakers, but they lost the game while
watching LA shoot for 50%.
The two biggest stats that call our attention in this game
are the amount of three pointers made by LA, 12, and the amount of FTs they
attempted. LA’s mission was to attack the basket, but then they realized they
were making it from the outside too.
The question the Boston Celtics’ staff must’ve been asking
themselves during the game was: “How can we beat a team like this?â€.
I personally wouldn’t blame them, because you usually want
to take out one find a team does well, but if they are hitting their stride
inside and out, it makes things very tough. Anytime Boston would make a run and
win the quarter, LA went “NBA Warriors†mode on them and completely dominated
the next quarter, killing any momentum.
Games 4 and 5 are in LA and I bet you one badjillion dollars
GM Greenmig wants to finish this off in 5.
The question is, will the Celtics let it happen?
The time to wake up and fight is now. Rise up, Celtics!
We want to see one last Game 7 if we can!
Game 4 is coming at us at warp speed, LA has turned the
tables on the Celtics. How can you miss it?
See you next time!
