"En garde", said
Mr. Kevin Durant when starting the game against the Los Angeles Lakers (I'm
assumiing that's what he said), as if they were on a fencing match.
The Boston Celtics just
carried out the momentum of their win against the Sixers right into this one
without missing a beat. They just came out firing on all cylinders for the
first three quarters it seemed like LA could not stop them. Granted LA also
started the game out on fire, as the 1st quarter was the highest
scoring quarter of the game, and there is a fair argument whether there was
little defense being played in the first quarter or if it were the case of otherworldly
offenses going at it.
In any case, after the first
quarter put hopes that this would be one of those historic high scoring games,
the Boston Celtics took a commanding lead of the game and gave no chance to the
Lakers in Q2 and Q3.
By the 4th
quarter, though, the story was a little different…
LA seemed to have turned one
of those keys that great teams like the NBA Warriors seem to do all the time
and just said that they were going to make it close by any means necessary.
Some may call it the dreaded “4th quarter comeback, presented by 2kâ€,
by it just wasn’t the case, even though it was a 4th quarter
comeback indeed, it wasn’t enough to pull out a win in the end, and the reality
is that you can only hold off a team as good as the Lakers for so long.
The key stat to win for the
Celtics was the absolute show their bigs put on the rebounding aspect of the
game. After being highly criticized by media pundits, the Celts’ bigs just
showed what they are capable of against one of the best teams in the entire
league on the glass.
Game 2, @Boston is fast
approaching. No time to waste.
These Finals are exciting
already, don’t you miss it!
See you next time!
