45-30!! LA Serve!
Yes, a tennis analogy for you guys! Very symmetric the way
that tennis games are similar to the NLL Finals.
Right now, that’s exactly what is happening, the Lakers are
up, on their own home court and they are serving for the whole dang thing!
Can you imagine, a back-to-back? LA would be pandemonium!
Now onto the game, and this review HAS to be about the MOP
of the match and runaway series MVP if the Lakers win, Andre Iguodala. 13-26,
33 points and 4-7 from three, from a guy that was criticized his entire career
for not having a decent enough shot from beyond the arc. He’s just flourished
in the playoffs and has completely taken over, impacting the game whenever and
wherever he lines up. It is such a credit to his work ethoc and for GM Greenmig
to have found ways to utilize him to his full potential against such a talented
Boston team!
Here are some key game 5 stats that jump out og the screen
for this game:
Bench points - 43-23 LA
Rebounds – 47-42 LA
FTs made – 21-10 LA
Threes made – 10-4 LA
If you’re Boston you gotta be thinking to yourself why does
this team oscillate so much, because if you look purely on the stats, this
looks like a landslide for the Lakers.
The big thin is that the Celtics can overcome so many of
their deficiencies with absolute ELITE shooting, but the problem with that is
when you are not hitting everything, those deficiencies come back up to haunt
ya.
They are facing a team in the Lakers that is the poster
child for consistency, and this major difference is what has given these Finals
such great flavor!
Now the top seeded team in the Finals is backed into a
corner and clearly on their heels, not that they haven’t been in this situation
before, and you should never underestimate them but they do have all Game 7s to
play from now on!
Game 6 flies back to LA and tensions will be running high!
Don’t get off that chair and don’t blink!
