The votes are in and final, and here we announce the Players of the Week and Rookies of the Week for Week 9!

East POTW – Kevin Durant

KD moved to PF, the Celtics went 3-1 and he dropped a season high tying 43 this week to claim the Eastern Conference Player of the Week with 70% of the 1^st place votes ahead of Lebron James. KD as a PF? 34.5 points per game (2^nd best week of the year), 10 rebounds (best week), 4 assists, 1 steal and 2.3 blocks on a ridiculous 62% shooting (best week). I’d say, success! The Celts have been slowing climbing back up the tables after again initially worrying GM JMac at the start of the year and prompting somewhat of a yard sale (without the sale) to get back on track. Congratulations Kevin Durant on 3X POTW!

West POTW – Joel Embiid

With Bogut and Anthony Davis down, Joel Embiid was set completely loose in week 9 and he took home 50% of the 1^st place votes to claim the award over Mareese Speights. Embiid was every bit the monster we’ve all been waiting for hom to be this week averaging 28.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.8 blocks on 66% shooting, 40% from deep, 80% from the line and dropping 2 30 point games including a career high 38! Has the kid arrived or what?!? Congratulations Joel Embiid on POTW for Week 9!

West ROTW – Marquese Chriss

Chriss is going from strength to strength at the moment in a depleted Grizzlies frontcourt with not much else to play for. For that reason he’s getting all the burn he can handle and he’s putting up numbers which are great signs for the future! He was a near unanimous winner this week of the rookie award putting up 20.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists 0.5 steals and 1.5 blocks on 62% shooting in 36mins a game. He also dropped a career high 34 points, and had it not been for his 2 point fizzer against the Raptors he could have averaged high 20s on the week! The kid will play down the stretch as long as he’s healthy, so look for a ROTY surge if he’s not already strongly in the conversation. Congratulations Marquese Chriss on 3x ROTW!

East ROTW – Brandon Ingram

Ingram has had a semi love hate relationship with GM Digeze throughout the season but he was back in the good books in week 9 and easily beat out Kris Dunn for his 4^th ROTW award. He poured in 23.5 points, 6.3 boards, 3 assists and 0.8 steals on a very nice 48% shooting including 51% from deep. Ingram has been up around the top of the rookie chart all season, and as long as he gets the minutes he’ll continue to put up numbers like these down the stretch to push for the major award. Congratulations Brandon Ingram on 4x ROTW!
