Now that Philly has lost a game, this ranking for MIL once again makes sense. In the Bucks 3 games in week 6 they have won by an average margin of 38 points. Giannis is absolutely balling on the league on all front. He's the best big man/slasher in every game he partakes in. The league will have a tough time dethroning MIL from this spot this year.

The Thunder continue to cream teams week in and week out, a true tribute to GM Nenjabin's excellence. The Thunder have now won 13 in a row and 17 of 18. Good for second spot out West but tops amongst winning percentage across the NLL. Fun Fact: Lebron and Kawhi are the only players to win POTG honors for OKC this year. The current tally: Kawhi 15, Lebron 3.

Philly Philly! Finally took one in the loss collumn this week after a hard fought battle with the Clippers. Foul trouble early led Zion to the pine, and Philly into inputing Ben Mclemore at the 4. Rough to say the least. That being said all Philly has done has beat teams of late led by MVP front runner James Harden. Philly owns wins over CHA, OKC, and MIL. For what it's worth I would have Philly in the #1 or #2 spot here personally!

The Clippers brought it home this week against the 76ers who were formerly unbeaten. Another notch in the teams belt alongside wins against Brooklyn and Dallas this season to boost their resume. Kemba walker is lighting it up wherever GM Andrew has him slotting in, be it from the bench or the starters role. This team is rolling!

After losing their first game CHA rattled off 11 straight wins. Since, things have gotten a bit murkier as CHA has gone 7-3 in their last 10. For the rest of the league that'd be great, but for a team anchored by Embiid, KP, and BI some might consider this underachieving. The teams losses have come from mostly elite teams in 2 losses to Philly, 1 loss to MIL, and 1 loss to the Pacers, though these are the types of team they will need to beat come the post season to achieve any success beyond what the past couple of years have yielded.

It's now up to 8 wins in a row for the Nets who had lost 3 back-to-back-to-back prior to that. Curry is lighting it up this season and meeting expectations but to the surprise of many Middleton has taken home 2 of the last 3 player of the game awards for the Nets. The offense is ran and propped up Curry but there are plenty of players supplying the team with exactly what is needed to rack up wins.

This team sucks...just kidding, but we do fully expect the Pistons to drop in these standings as we proceed on with the season. We have inside sources that report that while it was important for the Pistons to stay afloat in the playoff race this season, it was even more important to accrue assets that will allow them to have sustained success in the future. Perhaps you could liken the Pistons stance to that of the early 2010's 76ers, and much like then, the Pistons are asking their fans to "trust the process".

Indiana has been making a slow creep up the standings and power rankings as the team has gotten healthy and began to mold. Gordon Hayward is playing out of his mind and Luka is doing Luka things. I fully expect this team to be slotted in the top half of the Eastern Conference down the stretch and receive home court advantage come playoffs. They might even challenge the top 3 in the East when fully healthy!

If Atlanta was healthy I think we'd be talking about one of the surprise teams this season. 2 of the teams top 3 rated players have been out all season, and will be long term, and that will continue to hamper this team all season. Eric Bledsoe and Joe Harris have stepped up immensely to start the season. Let's see if they can keep this up!

A team who is trying to push for playoff contention but I'm not sure has the pieces. They have building blocks in Booker and Siakam, and a couple of role players in Lopez, Brogdon, and others. Their recent 3 game stretch has seen losses to NYK, POR, and CHI, 3 teams currently outside of the top 8 seeds in their respective conferences. I wouldn't expect them to be slotted this high in next weeks rankings. Luckily there is still plenty of time to right the ship!

CLE has surprised many including myself to open up the season. The major injuries the team has endured are basically folk tale at this point of the season. Will this team catapult into playoff contention once they can get the team healthy? Right now they are relying heavily on Mo Bamba down low, and Collin Sexton to carry the offensive load.

We all know the story with PHO. Much like CLE the Suns have endured a heightened level of injuries with regards to the rest of the league. Unlike the Cavs, the Suns have hardly enjoyed having their best player on the floor in KD. It might not be panic time in PHO yet, but you'd have to think GM PennyWise is thinking twice about building his team around an often injured superstar in KD. As for Lowry's and Butler's absences this season you'll have to chalk that up to a streak of bad luck. I for one would bet this team turns it around as we reach the mid way mark and is a real contender when it really counts.

New Orleans is a team that focused on the present some might say in retrospect to this offseason, and you'd have to say to this point it has payed off! NO currently sits in the 6th spot out West and have gained a major boost from their top incoming trade asset in Nikola Vucevic, as well as the return of John Wall from injury. Eric Gordon has proved to be quite the asset received via trade as well. If this team is going to take the next step it will come from young guys in Culver, Hachimura, and Hayes, who you could point to as slight underachievers to this point in their NLL and NBA careers.

San Antonio sits in the 7th spot out West. That's right, you can read it again but the words will not change. A surprise to many, as many would have told you this team would be inside, or just out of the top 5 teams in the league coming into the season. The team has been without AD for some time now and struggled mightily. In their last 4 games the Spurs have dropped all 4 to the Mavericks, Warriors, Bucks, and Grizzlies. While teams do go cold everyonce in a while, you wouldn't expect the Spurs to drop 4 in a row to some questionable competition, let alone drop them by an average of 24.75 points!

I don't know what the future holds for Dallas, and I am not sure the man in charge there does either. Most of the main pieces remain on the block, yet the team remains in 3rd place with an impressive 13-8 record. Things are headed downhill quick in Dallas though it seems as the team is only 1-6 in it's last 7. Somebody pull the emergency brake!

Miami GM EmeraldEgg seems to be an early front runner for GM of the year. At this time last year this teams only asset was RJ Barrett. Now he has a number of young players and picks to mold into what he sees as the future of the Miami Heat and if the present is any indication the future is quite bright! The sailings might get a bit bumpy as EmeraldEgg navigates the short term suspension for Malik Beasley but when he returns it will once again be full steam ahead with the GM's eye on a spot in the playoffs.

This Boston team is another team who has suffered injuries. First it was having JV out for much of the start of the season, and then if memory serves correct the GM found it hard to get PG and Westbrook on the floor at the same time due to untimely injuries. Finally the team is mostly healthy and awaiting the return of George Hill who will provide yet another boost to an already stacked backcourt. Perhaps that is why we have seen both George Hill, and more recently Payton Prichard being shopped on the trade block.

Chicago has as well had a rough go of injuries. Man just in writing this you realize how bad injuries trouble's have been across the league. Initially CHI was without only Dlo after he had just started getting going on the season. In recent weeks GM Shams has seen both Al the perpetually shopped big man, and PJ Washington missing time for injuries. We do have some intel that paints Chicago as a rebuilding team who doesn't have much worry about the end of season placement. The goal is to build for the future and GM Shams is doing a fine job of that right now!

The Knicks are amongst the biggest dissapointment accross the league thus far with regards to pre-season expectations. The team was built to win now with stars in Donovan Mitchell and Andre Drummond but sputtered out of the gates. With Drummond out now it will be up to young guns in Lonzo Ball, Mikal Bridges, and the ascending Juluis Randle to carry the load and bring this team up to where it should be, playoff contention. We'll need to see the Knicks turn it around quick if they want a shot at making it to the year end tourney.

Houston is about right where you'd expect them coming into the season. This team will go as far as Nikola Jokic will take them, of course with sidekick Tobias Harris in tow. This might be a team to watch as we approach the trade deadline with a GM who is making his season debut. Will the team look to bring in win now pieces to bolster the current repertoire or will they stand pat and look more towards the future.

Washington sits at 11-9 and in the 8th spot out East. This is a great indicator of how close the middle of the road teams sit as we reach the 1/3rd mark of the season as the team has an identical record to the 9th ranked ATL squad. This team really needs some additional pieces around Kyrie and Ben, specifically to prop the team up when one of the stars misses time, which should be expected. Robert Williams continues to ascend as he received yet another bump in the latest 2k ratings update from 77 up to 79. If he can crack the 80 mark it'll be yet another young star waiting to blossum for the Wizards.

Yet another team that has battled injuries all season. Missing KAT was of course more massive than the rest, but it is tough to miss key contributors like Marcus Smart, and less so Shake Milton on a regular basis. The Grizzlies seem to be hitting their stride now as the team has won 4 of their last 5 games including a win over the SA Spurs. I am keeping my eye on the Grizzlies as a team who might make a mid season push to playoff contention once they can get their team back to full health.

Portland made the big trade a few weeks back, and boy oh boy does it look like it's going to pay dividends. The team has rattled off 3 wins in their last 4 games, one of which was a pivotal W they earned at the expense of their conference couterpart Utah Jazz. Will Titles be able to make this thing work with the plethura of young talent he has, upon the inclusion of Ayton. It looks so now, but it'll be interesting to see if the streak of good play is a long term form, or a short term spurt.

Golden State is foreal folks! And I must make this point as this formula clearly is not giving GM Tim Burke the respect his team deserves. GS currently sits in the 8 spot out west with an 9-12 record, though their recent form has been quite impressive! They are 4-2 in their last 6 with wins over Detroit and San Antonio who sit 5th and 7th in their conference respectively. I think we'll see GS depth keep them from the lottery selections next draft season, and see them perhaps steal a game from one of the West's tops teams after they sneak into the postseason this year.

Orlando is a team in rebuild mode. I don't expect to see the GM do much more than sell what assets the team has for younger players and draft picks to get the rebuild off the ground. From the few conversations I have had with the rookie GM he seems to very much understand the value that his pieces should fetch, and as a result I do expect this team to improve over the next season or two to a respectable level. He was dealt a hand I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, and for that you have to commend his bravery!

THE surprise team of the season thus far, and unfortunately this is not a positive context. The Raptors just cant seem to find success this season, perhaps partly due to injuries to major pieces in the Center Robinson and for a short stint Aldridge and a couple of others. This team has the talent to be a playoff contender in the East without a doubt, and the results are very puzzling. Toronto will be a situation we monitor as we move into the trade deadline part of the season. Will we see Beal leave the North? Will the team bring in additional pieces to right the ship? Denver is another rebuilding team, though a team that has drafted very well in recent drafts putting them into a position to have a quicker turn around than many perhaps expected. Late draft hits in Quickley, Bazley, and Simmons have proven that GM Rootsey has a keen eye for talent and will quickly turn this team into a contender once again. It was just a year ago this team was fighting for the playoffs behind a slew of veterans and to see where the team is at now is shocking to say the least.

Minnesota is another rebuilding team with some very intriguing pieces. If we are going to focus on Rootseys drafting prowess, it would be unfair to ignore the prowess of GM Jonathan! He has done an exceptional job with his late draft picks in his short time in the league landing Flynn and Mcdaniels, and of course signing on Duncan Robinson who has grown immensely during his short time in the league. This is yet another team who is on the rise and should be a force to be reckoned with in the coming years.

Sacramento is another rebuilding team who landed what seems to be a gem in the end of the 2nd round in the latest draft. Nico Mannion who is receiving regular minutes on the NBA warriors was an absolute steal that late in the draft, and should turn into one of GM JWalks more attractive assets. Unfortunately for him outside of his own picks there just isn't much on the roster in the form of win now or future assets. He's done a good job with the hand he was dealt, but without sugar coating things, well that hand was not exactly pretty upon arrival.

The Lakers have been without new-comer star Christian Wood for much of the campaign and it has hurt them. The team does have several young and interesting pieces and building blocks in the form of Vassell, Wiseman, Garland, and Nesmith, but just don't seem to have what it takes to compete this season. Terry Nozier has been dissapointing in the NLL thus far, as has Jeremy Lamb.
