NLL Insider - The Upset

Did we prophesize an upset in game 1? Of course not... well maybe... Kings came to the Staples Centre and upset the champions. The big lead in first quarter basically sealed the deal, Lakers never recovered. Was it a bit of underestimating the opponent, not getting prepared or just an anomaly.

Bogut vs Chandler.

Defense wasn't really in the first plan in this game. Chandler's stats look worse, he was a complete non factor on offense, missed both shots, rebounded poorly, but he was a +5 in his limited minutes. Bogut wasn't much better stat wise. Best center on the floor was King's Plumlee, efficient in his limited chances, a big part of the final score.

Iguodala vs Thompson.

I thought Dala was snubbed in DPOY voting but he proved me wrong this game (not that Chandler or Bogut really excelled, maybe by their uselessness on offense?). Klay could do whatever he wanted in this game and finished with efficient 31 points, 4 threes and +5. Dala was excellent on offense too, but his main contributions should come on the other end.

Hill vs Clarkson.

Hill got outplayed in this game, Clarkson showed him how it's done and was the 2nd top scorer after Klay. Hill will have to step his game up for next meeting. Lakers backup guards looked rather putrid, so there's likely no help coming from that direction either.

How will Greenmig react?

He can say this is an anomaly and stick to his guns once more and adjust if necessary when they're down two. He can look at terrible front court contribution and make something there. Play more defense is another option.

Hill for Tyson?

It will be interesting to see the changes for 2nd game.

Klemmelo on the other side can rest and wait for the results, maybe the decisive blow will come on Friday or he can make some subtle changes to stay step ahead of the Lakers.
