“The process by which one reflects and is able to understand
what they know.â€
For the Utah Jazz two games have gone by vs the Oklahoma
City Thunder and it has resulted in two losses.
Sure, OK, you can’t win them all.
The Jazz went into game 1 with a structure not all too different to
their best regular season line-up. And,
they lost, well I mean really they got beaten soundly. The Thunder led throughout, controlling ball
possession and shotting the ball better.
PotG Jonas Valanciunas pounded them in the paint toying with Jazz rookie
Willie Cauley-Stein. Big Val had his own
way like taking candy from a kid, he scored at Will and collected eight, yes 8
offensive rebounds.
Only one loss, BUT the problem here is nothing has
changed. Game 2 comes along and the Jazz
fronted up with the same tactics and guess what, to no one’s surprise they got
pounded again. Advanced stats were
almost identical, the final score was almost identical. Big Val destroyed the Jazz again. The series is now 2-0 OKC and if nothing
changes then it’s going to be 4-0 – it doesn’t take a Rhodes Scholar to work
that out. Clearly the series is being
won and lost on the back of efficiency.
OKC are much more efficient than UT and the biggest contributor to this
is Val who is averaging 20 and 20 at about 75% shooting.
In the interest of a competitive and exciting series, as the
NLL media host, I am here to say, “gm merencio, do something or it's over!!â€
Game 3 will be sometime next week. So we will all wait and see whether a team
which features such prodigious talent as Rose-Wiggins-Oladipo gets one step
closer to being swept or whether their front office is able to do something about
the front court battle to swing the momentum in this series.
Stay tuned for an explosive game 3…
