Player Review Terrence Ross
Player Review Terrence Ross
Terrance Ross was a high 1st round pick, and we still wonder
when he will live up to his potential. He has hops to burn, can shoot, has all
the skills to become a gun in the league. Ross earnt his role as a starter last
season, and kept onto it for the full regular season. A bad matchup, put him as
the scoring punch of the bench, he excelled at the role, and may look at that
more next season.
Offense
With a team with so many weapons, Ross is seen as the 4th
option and he has played that rolled perfectly. Ross didn’t take many bad
shots, hitting on an impressive 48%. Ross doesn't add too much in other
categories, even with a career high 2.2 assists per game, he is lucky to get an
offensive rebound each game. Finding open looks behind the arc is one of the
main objectives of Ross, knocking down 42% was a justified reward.
Rating: B+
Defence
Ross did his part in some parts and was left wanting in
other areas. The biggest example was his 7 blocks for the season, yes that’s
right, 7 only. Ross playing at SG, is
see as one of the tallest in the league, at 6 foot 7 inches, he uses that
length to great benefit, getting almost a steal a game. Another career high was Ross getting 3.1 defensive
rebounds, this ranks well in the league, and it’s hard getting a rebound with
Drummond and Ibaka
Rating: C-
Ross is a handy offensive weapon, he has length, speed and athleticism.
All the tools are there to be a defensive stalwart also, it’s a mindset and
effort thing. Ross did his role in this team, but when coming up against the
top Shooting Guards, he was left wanting. Ross took steps forward this season,
but has he peaked?
Final Grade: C
