He's Back!

And he want's to help the Bulls reach the playoffs.

29th Of October 2014. This date sticks in the minds of those long suffering Bulls fans, and in particular GM DazMan32.

This was the day a happy off-season, one that yielded a trade for GM favorite Steph Curry, was made a disastrous one.

With Dirk's return all but a formality in the GM's mind, he was hard at work trying to find the best way for his two lethal scorers to co-exist.

Unfortunately Dirk had other plans, announcing he would be testing the free agent market. He would eventually sign a 2 year deal with the Clippers, before being traded to Toronto soon after.

A homecoming in Dallas followed, but after one season, his rights were renounced and Dirk found himself in Charlotte, surrounded by many talented rookies and sophomores.

And now he is back in Chicago.

Dirk explained "The way i left Chicago always left a bitter taste in my mouth, i regret to this day the way it was handled, however, at the time, I was concerned about the amount of touches and shots i would get next to Steph."

"Now, a little older and wiser, I am thrilled to be back in Chicago and playing alongside Steph. I really hope i can help this great franchise and it's fans experience playoff basketball once again."

And help Dirk has, with the sudden departure of Mike Scott, and growing injury list, the Bulls dropped 7 straight games, and looked headed for a downfall.

But with Dirk on board, the Bulls have won 5 straight and again have a little buffer over that all important .500 mark.

GM DazMan32 had this to say.

"I almost didn't make the offer for Dirk, I knew he was available, but my pride was really preventing me from going through with it. Mike's situation was appearing shaky, the losses were mounting, and after missing on a few other big name stretch four's, Dirk suddenly made a lot of sense."

He continued "Call it a quirk of the schedule if you will, but i really think this is a different team now. We are able to play a more uptempo style, which involves lots of action, trying to get guys open looks. It's great not having to fear that the wrong guy will take a shot anymore. I look forward to seeing how we do in our remaining 3 games this week, against very formidable opposition."

Dirk currently boasts a plus/minus of +8.8 through 5 games in Chicago. His points are up by 9 per game and his rebounds are up by 3 per game. He is also undefeated as a Bull.
