This week in Wizards news!

Last Week!

The Washington Wizards have had a rough season, and its one that GM Darko regrets with all the moves he has made. But there is one bright side to the season, the Wizards have tied with last seasons record of 29 wins, the most wins they have had in the previous four seasons. Sad but true, the Wizards still have eight games to break that record. This week they have games against Philadelphia, Orlando, Sacramento, and Charlotte. To try to get these wins, GM Darko has promoted Nick Collison to starting center. "When Nick is in the lineup we seem to play better. So we took the chance at starting him over the likes of Chris Andersen. Nick is the type of guy who can help in all areas of the offense and defense, and he is ready for the challenge." said GM Darko. Marcus Morris will come off the bench this week as the Wizards 6th man. Morris has been up and down this season, one week playing great, the next playing poor. Returning to the active roster is Chris Andersen, who will help greatly with his size as the Wizards have been playing with a smaller lineup the last few weeks. Also big man Spencer Hawes has returned after weeks of missing in action, but he doesnt seem to be likely to get minutes, at least not this week.

Whats ahead for the Wizards? We do not know as of yet. GM Darko has thought of retiring from the team, but sources close to the GM say that is likely NOT going to happen. "Darko loves his team too much to step away. He may try too hard to make his team good instead of suttle changes to fix things. I think he will be smarter going forward with his team. There is no reason to walk away now, there would be no point." said a source close to GM Darko. The Wizards still have an interesting roster, even with all the moves they have done over this season. Most importantly Marc Gasol and Carmelo Anothony will be returning for the team, the teams two superstars. Then you have guys like Nick Collison, Trey Burke, Marcus Morris who has had a breakout year. Spencer Hawes will also return. Also the Wizards will have a RFA this season in Matthew Dellavedova to keep around, and they will have 80+ GM points to put on Kevin Martin or another free agent they may like. The team is certainly not in bad shape, but it could use some work, and GM Darko has the tools to work with.
