Welcome PJ and Tibor

Clippers management take great pleasure in welcoming PJ Tucker and Tibor Pleiss into the fold for the remainder of season 2015/16 campaign. While management were disappointed to see Taj Gibson and Garrett Temple make way. It was important to recognise that they weren’t realistically part of the Clippers future. We wish both players all the best on their pursuit of an NLL title

KFWB News talk Radio: - another trade another two players gone, fans want to know what was management thinking when agreeing to this deal?

GM Andrew: - We loved Taj during his time here in LA even Garrett was starting to gain some traction in a clippers uniform. But we also have to be realistic, were they going to play a part in 2 years? Were they going to be a part of our future? PJ is a quality player in his own right and just adds some experience and toughness to our bench. Tibor is a big 7’3 260lb monster that possesses some very good skills, His time will come eventually…

ESPN: - Why would you move a lottery pick at the start of the season if this was going to be the rout taken?

GM Andrew: - “I can understand that question, but also feel Alec Burks who is still only 24 years old has a bright future and can be a key part of a clipper future. He has suffered a setback but that’s all it is. We expect him back in a key six man role very soon.

Fox Sports News: - Rebuilding can be a dangerous cycle, fans want to know the direction that you are taking?

GM Andrew: - Firstly I agree, it can become a dangerous cycle and each team would have their own idea on how to go about it. I traded away my own picks to avoid the life sucking vortex of tanking. Im what you refer to as Com-building [laughs]. Competing and building at the same time. The direction hasn’t changed. We chose a direction last season and are still on course

Fox Sports News: - “care to elaborate “Com-Building”?

GM Andrew: - “Easy, im not a playoff team I understand that im also not at this stage a top lottery pick team. My goal is to continually add assets and build though FA / Trade and the odd draft pick.

Adding players like DeMarre Carroll, Alec Burks, PJ Tucker and Festus Ezeli are integral pieces to the team. Quality role players are sometimes a little under appreciated.

ICUP Sport: - “The odd draft pick? You own 16 picks over the next three seasons?”

GM Andrew: - “Yes I do, 9 first round picks and 7 second round picks to be accurate but that really just makes my ability to trade for pieces I want that much easier doesn’t it?

Fox Sports News: - “rumours around that Tibor may be shopped already?”

GM Andrew: - “Yes that’s correct, while he may have a bright future in the league, we just don’t feel he has a position to fill in LA, and therefore will look into options around a possible trade”

KFWB News talk Radio: - any other moves in the works?

GM Andrew: - Nothing to major is expected, I’d like to see DeMarre and Alec get back as soon as possible and see what we have to work with.

ICUP Sport: - any idea on roster rotation moving forward?

GM Andrew: - Well to be honest we are hoping Alec and DeMarre can come back real soon so we can get a better idea but we will be toying with the idea of
