Happy holidays and rest up!

TEAM INJURIES
Atlanta Hawks Markelle Fultz (Shoulder), Alexis Ajinca (Knee), Justin Patton (Toe),

The word on the street is Fultz is close to being 100% but since his early season shenanigans with a jacked up shot, in house secrecy and dodgy medical staff he's pretty much off everyones radar. Can he come back and make a real impact? Holiday has been great so hopefully this takes the pressure of the youngster and he can play hard in that Hawks second unit. No time table set for Alexis and Patton has recently been recalled from the G-League to home to make his debut soon.
Brooklyn Nets Cameron Payne (Foot), A.J. Hammons (G-League), Danilo Gallinari (Buttocks), DeAaron Fox (Quad),

Payne just needs to just opt for a whole new foot because it seems he's always out. Galo remains on the side lines butt hurt and now Fox is out with a quad injury expecting to be on the bench for at least 2 weeks before he's re-evaluated. Brooklyn continue to struggle on a 4 game skid and having this guys healthy is crucial for them to get back on track.
Boston Celtics Lucas Nogueira (Calf), Avery Bradley (Hip), Jeff Withey (Waived in NBA), Shane Larkin (Knee),

Good news is they have Young back from a knock to the head but since moving Lopez for Avery they haven't had the chance to see him in action within this newly structured roster. He's expected to be back early in the new year so the Celts will just have to make do without him which hasn't seemed to slow them on their recent 5 game win streak. Larkin out with knee soreness just seems like a precautionary move and should be available next week.
Charlotte Hornets Frank Jackson (Foot), Harry Giles (Knees), Ike Anigbogu (G-League),

Couple of guys who aren't really going to move the needle in terms of Charlotte continuing with their success comfortably sitting in the top 8. Harry Giles continues to be sat with issues that understandably saw him slip in the draft as they delegate Anigbogu to the G-Leage to get some court time and development.
Chicago Bulls Damian Jones (CD), Nicolas Brussino (CD), Dewayne Dedmon (Leg), Stephen Curry (Ankle), Shaun Livingston (Knee),

The Bulls get Noah back but lose another PG in Livingston which isn't ideal but isn't considered long term. They've been forced to have Bullock as the best option to handle the ball off the bench which in of itself doesn't breed winning basketball. They've managed to play well even with Curry out but perhaps this week may be a bit of a rough one. Curry is due back "Any day now" which is great for the Bulls.
Cleveland Cavaliers Milos Teodosic (Foot), Terrence Ross (Knee), Tony Allen (Knee),

Another week and the Cavs are a little light in the back court with big off season acquisition in Teodosic continuing to miss time with an injured foot but is expected back next week if everything goes right. Ross is closer to returning to action while Allen remains with no realistic time table. All small factors when it comes to how good the Cavs have been this year trying to snatch top seed from the Bucks but depth in this league is crucial.
Dallas Mavericks Jonathan Isaac (Ankle), Paul Millsap (Wrist), Nerlens Noel (Thumb), Emmanuel Mudiay (Ankle), Ivica Zubac (Ankle),

Millsap still isn't expected back anytime before the All-Star break which will perhaps see Dallas get a few weeks out of him to close out the season and a hopeful post season push. Isaac is looking more short term while no realistic timetable is present for Noel's return. Mudiay out hurts as Freddy is thrusted into big minutes off the bench as the back up point guard. KCP back is a welcome addition and will be interesting to see what kind of form he brings as the Mavericks look to get back in the winners column while sitting a half game out of the 8.
Denver Nuggets Troy Williams (Knee),

Denver seemed to be on the up swing after figuring out rotations but have continued to struggle despite being relatively healthy. Williams out with knee issues has no proper timetable on a return.
Detroit Pistons Jabari Parker (Knee), Jon Leuer (Ankle), Tyler Lydon (G-League), Bruno Caboclo (G-League), Derrick Jones Jr. (Waived in NBA), Kay Felder (Waived in NBA), Wesley Johnson (Foot),

Let's take last weeks outs and add a waived Felder and Wes being out with an foot injury who looks to be day by day at the moment. Detroit are looking to the future which is obvious and is happy to sit on their position looking for a top draft pick and for some key guys to come back healthy.
Golden State Warriors The Dubs are fully healthy and ready to go. Has the shipped sailed on a late Golden State come back?
Houston Rockets Isaiah Thomas (Hip), Mindaugas Kuzminskas (Waived in NBA), Hassan Whiteside (Knee), Timothy Hardaway (Leg),

Nothing much has changed here with the Rockets having to get by with some big outs in Whiteside and IT while Afflalo is back but that's a bit of a non factor. Thomas keeps teasing us with a return date but it's likely he will be back in the new year with him posting videos of him dunking in practice on social media. Newly acquired Hardaway hasn't had the chance to really prove his worth this season and isn't really close to it when he's not even cleared to run yet.
Indiana Pacers Sheldon Mac (Achilles), Blake Griffin (Leg), Marcus Morris (Knee),

Griffin continues to sit and with it the Pacers hope of making any noise this season. The plan without their own 2018 pick wasn't to tank another season but after resigning BG to big money long term it doesn't look like the injury woes have gone with it. Delly and Wright back is nice and they were in no rush to bring Morris back with his knee soreness, he should be throwing on a jersey next week.
LA Clippers DAngelo Russell (Knee), Cody Zeller (Knee), Devin Booker (Groin), Aaron Gordon (Calf), Clint Capela (Heel),

TT back and Capella out for the week but is treated as game to game at the moment, the Clips just can't catch a break and without their own pick this season was the one they had to make some real noise. Gordon fresh off player of the week honours now also finds himself spectating for the week but let's hope it's not ongoing and the Clips can get back open track and make a post season appearance.
LA Lakers Rodney McGruder (Leg), Luol Deng (CD), Damyean Dotson (CD), DJ Wilson (CD),

Leonard and Carroll back this week who are solid rotation guys and will help the Lakers continue to rule the Pacific division. The Lakers coaching staff are opting for a short rotation and seeing it non beneficial to play their bottom end guys, surely they can't continue to do this long term and it's unclear why they're playing their guys big minutes.
Memphis Grizzlies Dante Exum (Shoulder), Raul Neto (Concussion), Rashad Vaughn (CD),

Exum out again for what looks like the season but ushers in the chance for rookie guard Franky smokes to excel and is looking to make it hard for Exum to regain his starting spot. Neto still out on concussion protocol but Papa back in uniform means big things for Memphis as he's limited showing in week 6 saw some huge numbers being put up. Memphis hope to groom him into a prominent starting Centre in this league.
Miami Heat Dorian Finney-Smith (Knee), JJ Redick (Hamstring),

Newly acquired Dorian continue to nurse his knee but word is he should be back soon. The big news here is JJ being out with hamstring soreness this week but should be back on the court next week as this seems to just be precautionary. Easily their best player this season Redick has revived his career and proven to be one of the best scoring guards in the league. The Miami buzz has quietened a bit but they still look to sneak into the 8.
Milwaukee Bucks Zach LaVine (Knee), Iman Shumpert (Knee), CJ Miles (Shoulder), Donovan Mitchell (Toe),

Sources close to the Bucks say they expect Lavine to be back mid January but they're obviously in no rush to do so sitting atop the league. Shump has been continuously dragged through trade talks and it's unclear on when he will be back but obviously not in the long term picture for the Bucks. Mitchell isn't anything serious and the Bucks should see their starting rookie guard back in action next week.
Minnesota Timberwolves Glenn Robinson III (Ankle), Wayne Selden Jr. (Quadriceps), Zaza Pachulia (Shoulder), Evan Fournier (Ankle), Justise Winslow (Knee),

Same cast of misfits here that obviously hurt the Wolves depth but hasn't stopped going 8 of their last 2 and 5 in a row under new management. The Salt mines are all dried up and all it took was someone to actually stick it out and have a little faith as the pre season hotly favoured Minnesota team comes good. Both Zaza and Fournier and very close to stepping back on the court so the Wolves will welcome back something that looks close to a full strength roster next week.
New Orleans Pelicans Chinanu Onuaku (G-League),

Caleb straight back into the starting line up and after what seemed to be the only thing keeping them in it in Len being traded off what's on the horizon for NO? Perhaps it's just the realisation its a matter of time and knowing they can't sustain success on the back of a glorious hot streak of their former big man. Onuaku continues to develop in the G-League so nothing changes there.
New York Knicks Jason Terry (Calf), Luc Mbah a Moute (Shoulder), Manu Ginobili (Rest), TJ Leaf (G-League),

Slo-Mo Anderson back in the line up despite last weeks seemingly copy pasted report saying he'd be out for weeks. An obvious welcome addition for the Rockets err I mean Knicks. Old man river run Ginobili has a well earned rest for the week as the Knicks look to slowly build off a very sluggish start out of the gates. Terry is cleared to play but the Knicks are cautiously sitting him this week to make sure he's right to play.
Oklahoma City Thunder Dennis Schroder (Ankle),

Draymond Green back in the line up and after some cute rumours of spark plug McGee getting the starting gig over him are squashed the OKC deal with 6th man Schroder going down with a nagging ankle injury. They expect him to be back next week ready to go so McCaw gets a swing at running the second unit.
Orlando Magic Derrick White (G-League), Goran Dragic (Elbow), Danny Green (Rest),

The European sensation is back and with it the Magic lose their starting back court which is rough going. Richardson and Snell will be their very poor mans replacement and the Magic will attempt to continue to ride the coattails of their dream start to the season. They should still comfortably make it into the 8 if they keep playing .500 ball as Dragic has said himself it's just soreness and he's happy to play through the pain to keep Orlando afloat.
Philadelphia 76ers Isaiah Whitehead (G-League), Julyan Stone (G-League), Damian Lillard (Hamstring), Brook Lopez (Ankle), Rudy Gobert (Knee),

Rough. How can the Sixers expect to get themselves back to former glory with this kind of inconsistency. Management pull the trigger on a move to bring in a legitimate big man and immediately he joins the other in suits on the pine. He's probably looking at at least a couple weeks which is bad news for Philly as they get back Gobert for a week and lose him again for a few weeks. The good news is Lillard is being treated game to game at the moment and shouldn't *touch wood* be out for a significant stretch.
Phoenix Suns Davon Reed (Knee), Gordon Hayward (Ankle), Nemanja Bjelica (Foot), Treveon Graham (Back),

Rookie Reed continues to sit and may be making his debut mid January, of course Hayward remains on the list and despite some optimistic murmurs hasn't given any reason to think he'll be back this season. The Suns have been playing better and now only sit a game out of the 8 which is commendable given their start, perhaps Gordon back makes them a dark horse to pull off an upset out in the West.
Portland Trail Blazers Brandon Knight (Knee), Justin Anderson (Shin), Furkan Korkmaz (G-League), Brice Johnson (G-League), JR Smith (Knee), Jaylen Brown (Achilles),

Rivers back as they've missed their 6th man production but he sees himself in a starting role with both starting wings JR and Brown sitting on the bench. No rest for the wicked but the two guys won't see significant time out as coaching staff have expressed it's purely to get them right again for next week. On the back of Rudy Gay the Blazers have improved their stock being pick-less and previously winless and have been providing some exciting ball for their fans as they sit just outside the top 8.
San Antonio Spurs Alan Williams (Knee), Patrick Beverley (Knee), Mike Conley (Achilles), Joel Embiid (Back),

Conley is still a couple weeks away with achilles soreness which has effected him the better part of the last couple of years. Pat Bev is still in crutches and Embiid now sits with back tightness, worrying for the Spurs but they continue to win games and hold their own in the Western conference on the back of reigning MVP in Anthony Davis putting up numbers and making a case to go back to back.
Sacramento Kings Mike Muscala (Ankle), Mirza Teletovic (Knee), Mike James (Waived in NBA), Jahlil Okafor (Conditioning), Pau Gasol (Groin),

White is gone, for real now. The Kings stretch big men stock continues to be non existent but now add Gasol to the mix who was huge for them last week and proving to be one half of the dynamic duo next to Melo. Mirza recovers from his surgically repaired knee but is sidelined by a non related issue with blood clots in his lungs expected to be re-evaluated in a few weeks. Okafor has had issues all year finding form and takes the week off to get in game shape while newly signed Mike James is waived in a bizarre move.
Toronto Raptors Solomon Hill (Hamstring), Tyson Chandler (Personal), Ivan Rabb (G-League), James Johnson (Ankle),

Chandler should be back next week and the Raptors look forward to the return in Hill in due time. James Johnson who was recently brought in with a multi team trade sits with ankle issues but is touted to be back next week as it was only a minor sprain. With this move the Raptors look to have a more well rounded roster and have been playing .500 ball as of late, it's not to late for them to be making a post season push.
Utah Jazz Derrick Rose (Ankle), Khem Birch (G-League), Chris Paul (Hip),

Utah get Rolling and down goes their star Point guard in CP, unlucky stuff but it's not just on the back of CP to be the sole reason for their success as of late. Those close to the Jazz suggest they're playing it safe as Cp has already missed some significant time and they need him when it matters most. Rose is still in limbo who is officially listed as being out due to an ankle injury but it's been well documented on his struggles in all areas with coming back to the game.
Washington Wizards Seth Curry (Leg), Jeremy Lin (Knee),

Seth himself has stated on his inability to provide any concrete time table on his return and the Wizards are in no rush to get him back regardless. They don't have their own pick and they aren't actively trying to lose games but it's obvious what is going on here. Ironically Lin was picked up with full knowledge of his Knee troubles and will look to attempt to revive his career next season when the Wizards might start showing a bit of urgency and competitiveness.
