Week 17 Injury Watch

TEAM INJURIES
Atlanta Hawks Josh McRoberts (Foot), Justise Winslow (Shoulder), Malik Beasley (D-League): Gerald Henderson returns from a hip injury and should immediately resume his role as starting shooting guard. Justice Winslow as we know is out for the season after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Brooklyn Nets Kevin Love (Knee): Love remains out with that ailing Knee, but Wiz knew this going in to those trade negotiations, the key here is that everyone else remains healthy.
Boston Celtics Adreian Payne (Illness), Kyle Lowry (Wrist), Beno Udrih (Ankle), Kevin Durant (Knee), Brook Lopez (Ankle), Tyreke Evans (Rest), Shelvin Mack (Ankle): This is one seriously talented injury list, with KD and Lowry already out, Brook Lopez has turned an ankle, as has incumbent starter Shelvin Mack. And in terrible timing, Tyreke Evans is being rested. The already struggling Celtics are going to find the going even tougher in week 17.
Charlotte Hornets Evan Turner (Hand): Jose Calderon is with team again in the NBA, so that just leaves Evan Turner as the lone man, still recovering from that nasty broken bone in his hand.
Chicago Bulls Dragan Bender (Ankle), Chris McCullough (CD), Bruno Caboclo (CD), Damian Jones (CD): Garrett Temple returns and will be a welcome sight and calming defensive presence on the struggling Bulls bench. Daz also hopes the Dragon can make his way back before seasons end.
Cleveland Cavaliers Jarell Martin (CD), Luis Scola (Waived in NBA): The good news is Michael Carter-Williams is back from that knee injury, whether he comes back as a starter or eases back in from the bench is yet to be determined. Unfortunately, Luis Scola is still without team in the NBA.
Dallas Mavericks Jerryd Bayless (Wrist), Henry Ellenson (CD), Kay Felder (D-League), Joe Harris (Concussion), Nerlens Noel (Knee): JR Smith will finally make his Mavs debut after missing plenty of time with a thumb injury. Unfortunately Nerlens Noel is dealing with knee soreness and will miss JR's return.
Denver Nuggets James Young (Tailbone): James Young the only man here, with a sore tailbone. Perhaps from riding the pine all season long.
Detroit Pistons Ben Simmons (Foot), Diamond Stone (Knee): The news that Ben Simmons would be shutdown for the season by medical staff was not well met by GM Laddas. I really hope this guy can play 82 games next season.
Golden State Warriors Demetrius Jackson (Illness), Frank Kaminsky (Shoulder): The crafty Jose Barea is finally healthy again, and will start at point guard. Unfortunately Frank the Tank who has been having a nice sophomore season will miss with an AC joint sprain.
Houston Rockets Daniel Ochefu (CD): Who? The Rockets are healthy, but just cant seem to get it together on the court.
Indiana Pacers Georges Niang (D-League), Anthony Morrow (CD), Okaro White (Ankle): Darrun Hilliard is back after dealing with a sore back. Okaro White sits with a sore ankle.
LA Clippers No injuries here after Festus Ezeli was waived. Festus has a shocker of a knee injury, and who knows if he will ever make it back.
LA Lakers Michael Beasley (Knee), Josh Huestis (D-League), Ben Bentil (Waived in NBA), Nikola Vucevic (Achilles), Malcolm Brogdon (Back), Manu Ginobili (Ankle), George Hill (Toe): This list will halt the momentum that the Lakers have been building as we head towards the postseason. Vucevic is being managed with a sore achilles, old man Ginobili turned his ankle, and the two point guards are out with a back and toe injury respectively.
Memphis Grizzlies Festus Ezeli (Knee), Chris Bosh (Blood Clots), Georgios Papagiannis (D-League), Michael Gbinije (CD): Festus Ezeli finds a new home on the Grizzlies injury list. Chris Bosh is still trying to decide whether to retire due to those nasty blood clots, and rookie sensation big Papa G has been sent down.
Miami Heat Rudy Gay (Achilles), Mike Dunleavy (Ankle): The GM-less heat are without Rudy for the season with that nasty achilles injury, and Junior remains out with that bum ankle.
Milwaukee Bucks Wade Baldwin IV (D-League), Zach LaVine (Knee): LaVine is out for the season, and are the Bucks really missing his spark off the bench after that recent loss to the Pelicans?
Minnesota Timberwolves Jabari Parker (Knee): Wes Matthews and Terrence Jones return. Parker is going to miss another season with another torn acl, i worry about this guys career going forward, as two acl's usually spell big trouble in other sports.
New Orleans Pelicans Chinanu Onuaku (Cd), Isaiah Canaan (CD), A.J. Hammons (D-League), Chandler Parsons (Knee): Parsons has been really disappointing this season, and finds himself on the IR again with a sore knee.
New York Knicks Kyle Anderson (Back): Lance Stephenson is back from that ankle injury, Kyle Anderson goes out with a bad back.
Oklahoma City Thunder Walter Tavares (Waived in NBA): Who? The Thunder are on fire recently and this injury list wont slow them down at all.
Orlando Magic Malachi Richardson (Hamstring), Jordan McRae (Waived in NBA), Tim Quarterman (D-League), Ed Davis (Shoulder), Tony Parker (Back), Kyle Singler (CD): Tony Parker joins Ed Davis on the injury list with a sore back, the Magic are losing ground in the race for the playoffs in the East, and this doesn't help one bit.
Philadelphia 76ers Isaiah Taylor (D-League), Derrick Favors (Knee): The Sixers are streaking, but Derrick Favors is down with knee soreness. He has been a great addition to this Sixers squad, so David Lee has some big shoes to fill.
Phoenix Suns Omri Casspi (Calf), Omer Asik (Illness), Joakim Noah (Knee): Thomas Robinson makes a much needed return from an illness, but the front court will still be without Noah for some time after knee surgery.
Portland Trail Blazers Brice Johnson (Back), Ramon Sessions (Knee), Miles Plumlee (Calf), Maurice Ndour (Ankle): Former GM favorite Sessions is still down with a knee, however this is not a huge concern for the current GM Toby.
San Antonio Spurs Joel Embiid (Knee), Andrew Bogut (CD): These two big men are big time losses for the Spurs heading towards the post season. Embiid is shutdown with a knee, and Bogut has a broken leg. David West now has to play at center. Does that sound like a future NLL championship center to you?
Sacramento Kings Jared Sullinger (Waived in NBA), Ryan Kelly (CD), Kyle Korver (Foot): New recruit Sullinger is still without a team, and probably wont be until he gets in better shape. The sharpshooting Korver loss hurts, he is dealing with an inflamed foot.
Toronto Raptors Mirza Teletovic (Hamstring), Shaun Livingston (Rest): Tiago Splitter makes a surprise return. Livingston needs a week off after starting in week 16.
Utah Jazz Pierre Jackson (Waived in NBA), Kenneth Faried (Back), Joseph Young (CD): Victor Oladipo makes a welcome return for the Jazz who are fighting for a playoff spot. Kenneth Faried is still out, but they will need him soon, as i have a feeling we might see LaMarcus Aldridge listed here next week.
Washington Wizards Jodie Meeks (Thumb), Marcus Thornton (Waived in NBA): The Wiz are healthy, relatively speaking, and have had a couple of nice wins so far in the past week. They are still a sneaky chance, but cant drop too many more.
