Week 12 Injury Watch

TEAM INJURIES
Atlanta Hawks Josh McRoberts (Foot), Justise Winslow (Shoulder), Chris Paul (Thumb), Denzel Valentine (CD):  Justice and CP3.  Major injuries for a team that is already getting derailed.  Patty Mills and Bembry are poor substitutions.
Brooklyn Nets Khris Middleton (Hamstring), Tim Quarterman (CD), Danilo Gallinari (Groin):  Khris should be back soon and Gallo was starting at SF.  When everyone is finally healthy, the Nets will be stacked.
Boston Celtics Derrick Jones Jr. (CD), Adreian Payne (Illness): No big injuries right now for the Celts.
Charlotte Hornets Bruno Caboclo (CD):  When this is your only injury, this is a good week!
Chicago Bulls Dragan Bender (Ankle), Thabo Sefolosha (Groin), Garrett Temple (Hamstring), Chris McCullough (CD):  These players will hurt, but it's Thabo's defense that will sting the most.  Aside from him, these are mostly reserves anyway.  Looks like Buddy will start and Evan will play SF in his absence.
Cleveland Cavaliers Jarell Martin (CD), Robert Covington (Hand), Thomas Robinson (CD):  R-Co and Robinson are key contributors off the bench, so Harrison will be moved to SF and Amir will also try to cover for the injuries.
Dallas Mavericks Jerryd Bayless (Wrist), JR Smith (Thumb), Henry Ellenson (CD):  All are recently traded for players, but they were all already injured, so Dallas has already prepared for this week without them.
Denver Nuggets Troy Williams (D-League), Chinanu Onuaku (CD):  No major injuries.
Detroit Pistons Ben Simmons (Foot), Diamond Stone (CD):  Has the countdown begun yet?  Laddas is salivating for the day Simmons can dress.
Golden State Warriors Stephen Zimmerman (CD), Rodney Stuckey (Hamstring), Demetrius Jackson (D-League), Jose Barea (Calf):  Lots of names, but Stuckey and Barea are the key players here.  With them out, only Smart and TJ are PG eligible and with the lack of guard depth, they both start.  Could be a tough week for the Warriors if those 2 have stamina issues.
Houston Rockets Yogi Ferrell (Waived in NBA), Bryn Forbes (CD), Enes Kanter (Arm):  DIdn't Yogi just have a great week too?  Kanter will be sorely missed, as this team just does not have PF depth.  expect Al Jeff to play both backup C and PF for the Rockets.
Indiana Pacers No injuries.... I'm sure this is a report Sheed has been dying to see.
LA Clippers Festus Ezeli (Knee), Joel Bolomboy (CD), Cody Zeller (Quad), Rodney Hood (Knee):  Hood was a starter, but his injury is probably hurting LA more on the trade front, as a healthy Hood would have probably generated more interest.  Zeller is a nice player, but with the return of Capela, he was losing minutes anyway.
LA Lakers Archie Goodwin (Waived in NBA), Josh Huestis (CD):  Relatively clean IR for the Lakers.  Should be a good week for them in the NLL with most of the team healthy.
Memphis Grizzlies Chris Bosh (Blood Clots), Michael Gbinije (CD), Darrell Arthur (Rest): Bosh has been out all year, and I'm sure the Grizz just hope he would retire already, so they get the cap relief.  The other 2 aren't anything that would move the needle.
Miami Heat Kyle Wiltjer (CD), Rudy Gay (Achilles), Devin Harris (Illness):  Nothing to see here.... wait.. RUDY?!?!?!?  He's still out, but his presence was the glue that kept this team afloat.  Proid has been making moves to adjust to his absence, but can you really replace a top 12 NLL player?
Milwaukee Bucks Wade Baldwin IV (D-League), Deyonta Davis (Personal), Thaddeus Young (Wrist), Zach LaVine (Knee): Zach, the 6th man extraordinaire goes down and this could hurt for the Bucks. KCP will try to replace LaVine, but he's not quite as explosive.  Thad is another key role player, but it looks like Aaron Gordon will get the extra minutes.
Minnesota Timberwolves Avery Bradley (Achilles), Metta World Peace (CD), Zaza Pachulia (Shoulder): Geez, is Bradley ever healthy?  Didn't Minny trade for him because he wasn't injury prone? Sure, Wes will fill in well, but Avery is a 2 way player with great D.  ZaZa was a reserve, but Spud seems to like Holmes better anyway.
New Orleans Pelicans Jeremy Lin (Hamstring), Jahlil Okafor (Ankle), Cheick Diallo (CD), Tony Allen (Rest), Chandler Parsons (Rest), A.J. Hammons (D-League):  Parsons is hurt again?  Not much of a surprise there.  Jah, who's only played 29 games this year, leads the Pels, so it's always painful to lose him.  Allen was also a starter.  Lin was already injured.  The big issue for Pels is that with all these injuries, they only have 8 to suit up.  Hope they petitioned NLL for an injury player exception.
New York Knicks Kyrie Irving (Quad), Roy Hibbert (Knee), Ronnie Price (CD): Kyrie will be missed.  He's part of the most dangerous backcourt in the NLL.  Hibbert has been a solid reserve.  Can Harden take on the additional shots and still be effective, or will someone else step up for the Knicks?
Oklahoma City Thunder Walter Tavares (Waived in NBA), Josh Richardson (Foot), Jimmy Butler (Heel), Alex Abrines (Back):  Butler is the only player of note.  He's the team's centerpiece, so his absence will be noticeable.  With a tough schedule this week too, OKC will have their work cut out for them.
Orlando Magic DeMar DeRozan (Ankle):  Best player on the team is still out, but KLove and Tony Parker will hope to keep the Magic in contention.  When DeMar does return, this team will be out for blood!
Philadelphia 76ers Pau Gasol (Hand), Deron Williams (Toe), Bojan Bogdanovic (Rest):  Philly's great depth helps ease the pain of losing 3 contributors, but Pau really is a dominant big in the NLL.  Gobert plays well, but isn't as much of a difference maker yet.  Deron had been turning heads with his play off the bench and Bojan is a high percentage distance shooter. Philly has a solid schedule this week too.
Phoenix Suns Omri Casspi (Calf), Anthony Brown (Waived in NBA):  Casspi has been in and out of the rotation when healthy, but Brown never suited up for the Suns.  Perhaps having all their starters will help a playoff push in Phoenix.
Portland Trail Blazers Brice Johnson (Back), Ian Mahinmi (Knee), Lance Thomas (Face), Jake Layman (D-League), Ramon Sessions (Knee): Brice and Mahinmi are still out and have not suited up for Portland yet.Sessions out may be a blessing in disguise, as he's really not a starting PG. Can Tyler hold it down?  Lance Thomas and Layman are nothing to write home about, even on a team like Portland, so they really won't be missed.
San Antonio Spurs David West (Thumb), Joel Embiid (Knee), Andrew Bogut (Hamstring):  Ouch.  Embiid going down hurts big time.  He and AD combine for the best big man combo in the league.  AD will slot in at C and Lyles will try to fill in at PF.  Bogut has been MIA most of the year. West has been a solid reserve for SA.  The combo of these 3 out leaves SA hurting for bigs.
Sacramento Kings Steve Novak (CD):  He's played 5 games for Sac, so I think KLEM will be ok without this end of the bench guy.
Toronto Raptors Tiago Splitter (Hamstring), Kris Dunn (Hand): Splitter hasn't played for Tor yet, so nothing to sweat, but Dunn was their starting PG, so Livingston will have to lead the team this week.  Dunn was having a solid rookie season, cracking the NLL top 100, so he will be missed.
Utah Jazz Julius Randle (Illness), Pierre Jackson (Waived in NBA), Derrick Rose (Ankle):  It may not be DRose's team anymore, but he's still the starting PG, so there's a sharp drop off from him to Serg.  Randle is a solid PF that was creating mismatches vs other bench bigs.  Pierre really hasn't been a factor for Utah.
Washington Wizards Jodie Meeks (Thumb), Anderson Varejao (Waived in NBA), Marc Gasol (Rest), Nene Hilario (Groin):  Tough week for the Wiz, 3 of their best bigs all on the IR along with Meeks, who really isn't very productive.  Gasol will hurt the most, as he's a top 40 player.  This leaves the paint to Felicio, Haslem and Collison, with Melo forced to play PF.  Gonna be a rough week for Wiz fans.
