Mayo and Melo and Griffin OH MY!

TEAM INJURIES
Atlanta Hawks Ronnie Price (Toe), Donatas Motiejunas (Back), O.J. Mayo (Hamstring), Justin Holiday (CD),

Atlanta gave up some key depth to get OJ, who has yet to play a game in Red and Yellow.  Motiejunas is another key injured player.  CP3 and Wade can't do it all by themselves, but until these players can get on the court, the Hawks will continue to struggle against the top 1/3 of the NLL.
Brooklyn Nets Andre Roberson (Knee), Austin Rivers (Hand), Terrence Jones (Concussion), Josh Huestis (CD),

Austin Rivers is likely the most important player on this IR, but Terrence Jones was a starter, forcing Boogie to play PF and ZaZa to start at C.  No one is hoping for a TJ return more than GM Wizkid.   The other 2 players are incidental.
Boston Celtics Jarell Martin (D-League), Branden Dawson (D-League),

I would be concerned if either of these 2 guys were important to the Celtics.  These guys are so low on the depth chart, GM Jmac still doesn't even get their names right.
Charlotte Hornets Mike Dunleavy (Back), Kris Humphries (Knee), Willie Reed (Groin),

Humphries hurts, especially since Charlotte just doesn't have much depth and Kris is the starting C.  Dunleavy has yet to suit up for the Hornets.
Chicago Bulls Chris McCullough (Knee), Jodie Meeks (Foot), Chris Andersen (Knee),

Meeks still hasn't played a game this year, and has recently had a setback, meaning he won't return until sometime in March now.  Andersen would provide much needed big man depth.  Neither has played much for Chicago, so they haven't yet been incorporated into any real game plans yet.
Cleveland Cavaliers Rodney Stuckey (Foot),

Stuckey could start on some teams, but not in Cleveland, who seemingly have solid guard depth this year.  Sure Stuckey can score, but he's been suspect on D.  Lance Stephenson has filled in nicely, making those Cav fans forget about poor Rodney here.
Dallas Mavericks Cleanthony Early (Knee), Nikola Mirotic (Appendectomy), R.J. Hunter (CD),

None of these players do much for the Mavs, who have continued to put their best foot forward out of the Western conference battle for 3rd seed.
Denver Nuggets

Gotta love 100% healthy.  The Nuggets need to take advantage of the health while they can!
Detroit Pistons Eric Bledsoe (Knee), John Jenkins (CD), Tiago Splitter (Hip), Aaron Harrison (D-League),

The Bledsoe injury has really crushed any hopes the Pistons had of a possible playoff run this year.  Splitter hurts with the lack of big men in Detroit.  The other 2 guys don't mean much, but getting Kirk Hinrich back will help out the PG situation.
Golden State Warriors Quincy Pondexter (Knee), Wilson Chandler (Hip), Greivis Vasquez (Ankle), Nene Hilario (Calf), Larry Nance Jr. (Knee),

Pondexter and Chandler have been out all year, Vasquez still hasn't returned, but now the Warriors have to deal with losing Nance Jr and Nene for the week.  They just continue to lead the league in minutes their players lose to injury.  Amundsen should never start, but this is the result of the injuries.
Houston Rockets Ian Mahinmi (Back),

Not an integral part in Houston, having Mahinmi as the only guy hurt has GM Spud doing backflips.  Currently 6th in the West, the Rockets need to take advantage of having a healthy team and try to gain some ground, or create some space between them and the rest of the West.
Indiana Pacers Rakeem Christmas (D-League), Blake Griffin (Quad),

The Indiana Pacers, I mean Blakers, have been atrocious with Griffin out.  They rely on their star way too much and can't seem to turn the corner without him.  Will the free fall continue, or does GM Sheed finally have something up his sleeve.
LA Clippers Alec Burks (Ankle), DeMarre Carroll (Knee), Tibor Pleiss (CD), Festus Ezeli (Knee), Nikola Pekovic (Foot),

Burks, Pekovic and Carroll are regulars on the Clippers IR.  Pleiss and Ezeli hurt the team for depth purposes.  When Capella, Kaminisky, Diaw, and Speights are your big men, you understand why GM Andrew is pining for Ezeli, Pleiss and Pekovic's returns.  Call a shaman, or get your hands on some HGH there buddy.....Wink Wink ;)
LA Lakers Jarrett Jack (Knee), Manu Ginobili (Groin), James Johnson (Ankle),

Jack and Manu are key pieces to the Lakers team.  Having them both out could force LA to make some changes in the backcourt.  There are rumors that Manu's injury was intentional, and a Laker opponent was intent on damaging the former all star.  Could we see some fireworks here?
Memphis Grizzlies Dante Exum (Knee), CJ Watson (Calf), Jarnell Stokes (D-League),

exem was a solid 6th man for Memphis, Stokes has potential, but needs to get out the D-league.  With Memphis leading the league in losses, it may not really matter if they are healthy or not.
Miami Heat Al Jefferson (Calf), Tim Duncan (Knee),

Rumor has it, GM Proid is totally unsure how Al Jeff would fit in with the Heat anyway, but with the potential he has, Craig seems willing to take the risk. Unfortunately, Miami will also see Duncan sit this week.  The IR says knee, but a little bird told me that Craig is resting Tim for the playoffs.... you gotta make the playoffs first there buddy!!!!
Milwaukee Bucks Brandan Wright (Knee), Rondae Hollis-Jefferson (Ankle), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Groin), Noah Vonleh (Ankle),

One of the longer IR lists this week, the only player of importance for Milwaukee is KCP, who found his name on the trade block mere minutes after he was injured.  GM Badwolf may be ruthless, but he has taken this Bucks team to a top 5 record so far and has a good chance at a home series in the 1st round at this rate.
Minnesota Timberwolves Tyreke Evans (Knee), Richaun Holmes (Ankle), Mike Miller (CD),

Reke hurts Minny tremendously.  He's potentially the 6th man of the year, ranking 33rd in the NLL.  Minny doesn't have a lot of depth at wing, so I have no clue how he's gonna replace the 21 points Evans contributes daily.
New Orleans Pelicans James McAdoo (Toe), Brandon Knight (Groin), T.J. Warren (Foot), Metta World Peace (CD),

The Pelicans may have 4 guys on the IR, but with a 13-32 record, does it really matter?  Perhaps having Knight on the bench will help the Pelicans with their tanking plan to try for Simmons??  But I didn't say that.......
New York Knicks Tyler Johnson (Shoulder), John Henson (Back),

Henson is good depth at C, but the rest of the team is healthy, so watch NY gradually gain ground on the elite of the East.
Oklahoma City Thunder Damien Inglis (Ankle), Bruno Caboclo (CD),

If you were going to have to have 2 players injured, who better than #14 and #15 on your depth charts?  OKC is full strength, as neither makes their 12 man roster.  This is key, as the Thunder are fighting for that 8 seed out West
Orlando Magic Duje Dukan (D-League), Kevin Garnett (Rest),

Garnett and his defensive presence hurts Orlando, but if they can't gain ground with him, they certainly won't without him.  If I recall, KG is on the block anyway....any takers?
Philadelphia 76ers Devin Harris (Toe), Kevin Martin (Wrist), Pau Gasol (Hand),

Big injuries for the sixers, who need all hands on deck in the battle for the East.  2 starters out will have GM VT back to the drawing board to see if his team depth truly is the best in the NLL.  Pau is the biggest setback, as he really improved the team D and Rudy just hasn't shown he deserves to start in Philly just yet.
Phoenix Suns James Ennis (D-League), Joakim Noah (Shoulder), Darrell Arthur (Quad),

Noah is the big loss, but he only played 4 games for the Suns before being hurt for the rest of the season.  Sure, he may return for the playoffs, but the Suns still need to MAKE the playoffs first.  They have been fighting off Minny and OKC for that 8th seed, but if they don't start to string some wins together, they could be on the outside looking in.
Portland Trail Blazers Sam Dekker (Back), Joe Harris (CD),

no one of note missing for the 3rd worst team in the league.
San Antonio Spurs Joel Embiid (Foot), Spencer Dinwiddie (CD), Lance Thomas (Concussion),

Embiid on the IR...really...said no one EVER... guy still hasn't played an NLL game and don't expect one soon either.  Rest of the team is healthy, but the big key is that Davis is NOT on the IR....
Sacramento Kings Jordan Adams (Knee),

A full strength Kings team needs to right the ship after some tough losses see them with a losing record in their last 10 games... maybe some trades need to happen for some tweaks to the team?
Toronto Raptors Tony Wroten (Waived in NBA),

Wroten continues to not garner playing time, mostly because it really seems like he's been blacklisted in the NBA.  Wasn't this guy the Sixers leading scorer last year?  No one wants to take a chance on him?  GM Juvenile is patiently hoping for someone to get froggy there!
Utah Jazz Russ Smith (D-League), Jordan Mickey (D-League), Eric Gordon (Finger), Montrezl Harrell (Illness),

E-Gor still out, but GM Merencio is calmly plotting for his gunner to come make this team an offensive juggernaut.  Now, can the Jazz get him, DRose, Wiggins and Bojan to mesh?
Washington Wizards Matthew Dellavedova (Hamstring), Carmelo Anthony (Knee), Jameer Nelson (Wrist),

Geez, you have some horrible luck there, Darko!  Just when it looks like the Wiz are gonna become a tough out, 3 important players go down.  Melo was finally looking like Melo, Della was looking WAY BETTER than he ever should and Nelson was key depth.  Don't expect many wins this week with these 3 guys out.
