Miami Heat Mission Statement

Happy Tuesday, everyone. My name is Lance Roberson, and I am the new General Manager of the Miami Heat. With NLL postseason action soon to start, the gears are grinding in my front office. Looking at my roster, it’s evident the talent is there to make a playoff push next season.

However, considering my predecessor’s success in jumpstarting a rebuild, I will continue to mold the roster using the three first round picks at my disposal and possibly shop a couple of veterans on the roster. Utilizing the 136 GM points this offseason remains the ace in the deck for the Heat organization, especially considering the new NLL free agency system.

Despite the plethora of positive roster pieces on the Heat, the top-four teams in the Eastern Conference indicate what a NLL team requires to contend for a championship. Ultimately, the roster warrants further tinkering, and depending on the offer, our front office could move deeper into a rebuild or make a slight competitive move in obtaining a star via trade or (and) free agency.

The point is, we won’t go too extreme on either side of the team-building spectrum. Regarding a scenario in which rebuilding occurs, don’t expect long-term losing. Considering the winning history of the Miami Heat, a trust-the process- teardown doesn’t fit the bill.

Expect the Heat to lift every stone and open every door to success this offseason. Nothing is off the table during negotiations. If you have a respectable offer, we will listen. We love the veterans on this team, yet in the same breath, we acknowledge they might fit better elsewhere.

Although we aren’t in the playoffs, the Heat organization wishes everyone great health during their journey to the top of the NLL mountain. I look forward to guiding the Miami Heat back to championship basketball. Until then, we build.

Sincerely,

Lance RobersonText
