What goes around comes around.

Courtney Lee was a fan favourite when GM Klemmelo landed in town and was begrudgingly sent packing when the Kings desperately needed a point guard with the untimely injury to Mike Conley. Since then he has found himself in the colours of the Lakers for their championship run then the Celtics, Grizzlies and of course the most recent Champion Spurs before finding his way back where he belongs donning the royal purple.

He comes home with a couple of shiny bling rings on his finger (no hard feelings) and some real leadership presence along with it. At a time with some real uncertainty for the Kings heading into the free agency period it was obvious that management had to secure some back court depth especially with Rondo, Green and Korver all being renounced this week. The Kings will head into the feeding frenzy that is free agency with a whole lot of cap space but can at least sleep a little easier eliminating some of the risk involved with the acquisition of Lee.

"It's known around the league how much of a professional the guy is... We got to see him perform up close and personal in the Western conference finals and he was a big part of how successful they were... To have a guy like that back on our team, I'm really excited with what he brings..." -Carmelo Anthony

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the main target for the Kings will be a starting point guard as it's largely known around the franchise that Barea was brought in to run the second unit. Along with essentially a whole bench unit the Kings have a lot of work to do and are seemingly playing with fire with a whole lot of margin for error. It's yet to be seen whether James Johnson or Jahlil Okafor will be starting PF as both have had strong outings in the pre-season which is a great problem to have... 'Till next time.
