Then & Now - Brandon Ingram

Review and Projections

BRANDON INGRAM

Last Season

Brandon Ingram didn't waste anytime introducing himself to the NLL. Drafted 2nd Overall, he was long, raw and skinny as hell. Projected to be a work in progress as his body developed, he also came across as being quiet in nature and having a reserved personality. Nobody told NLL Ingram this though as he emerged on the scene with a 'tendency' to dominate the ball and never turn down a shot. This sort of mentatility may have been a detriment to the overall team game but it did see the young rook hoisting the Rookie of the Year trophy at the end of the season. While Ingram's efficiency could often be less than desired, he also put up some monster games during the year and fast tracked his development. He finished the season ranked 10th overall among Small Forwards

2016/17 Season - 33.9mpg - 19.6ppg - 5rpg - 2.5apg - 1spg - 0.7bpg

This Season

While Ingram's 'tendencies' in the NLL surprised everyone last season, we're actually expecting an overcorrection to begin this season. Brandon is expected to revert to a more subdued role based on last years NBA role, meanwhile, he's entered the NBA season looking significantly more aggresive and confident. Eventually the 2 worlds will align and we'll end up with a true reflection of the young player, until then, the Hornet's team will have to remain patient. Regardless of what he's doing offesively, Ingram does provide a real positive influence defensively thanks to his length. Sharing the court with Zinger an Myles Turner creates and avalaunche of arms and legs disrupting the passing lanes and adjusting jumpshots which gives opposing teams fits trying to run their plays. The Hornet's did explore a few trade scenarios which would bring in some Small Forward help, allowing Ingram to possibly begin the year from the bench and give him more time to prove his capabilities. While there is still a chance such a move could be made, sources have indicated in all liklihood that it will be Brandon Ingram beginning the year as the Starting Small Forward.

2017/18 Season Projections - 29mpg - 12ppg - 4.8rpg - 2.8apgpg - 1.1spg - 0.8bpg
