Trade Aftermath

The Rockets have been 9-7 since the Waiters trade. This is a little better than the 7-9 record prior to trade. We are playing with confidence. We have a great understanding of the playbook. We feel more flexible than ever. Injuries are not a problem since we have a lot of depth with the additions of Dion Waiters, Cole Aldrich, Tim Frazier, Jonas Jerebko, and Yogi Ferrell.

Playoff Chase

A couple of loss streaks have really hurt the team.

11 game loss streak in weeks 3 â€“ 5
6 game loss streak in weeks 9 â€“ 10

We are still 5 games out of the playoff chase. There are only 12 games left in the season. Every game has now become a must win. Wish us luck guys. Weâ€™re going to need it especially with formidable foes such as OKC, DEN, SAC, SA, and UTA.

Injuries

Isaiah Thomas will miss this week with a knee issue that shouldnâ€™t keep him out too long. This wonâ€™t be a problem because we have Tim Frazier and Yogi Ferrell to take on bigger roles in Isaiahâ€™s absence.

The more pressing issue is the Dion Waiters injury. He landed wrong on his ankle last Friday. It was a nasty twist. He was spotted today in crutches and will be without a time table. The Rockets have enough depth to cover this injury, but not sure what Iâ€™m going to do yet.

Recent Addition â€“ Quinn Cook

I was pretty happy to sign Quinn Cook to the Houston Rockets. I like that he can shoot three pointers and heâ€™s only 23 years old. He still has a very long way to go though. I watched some of his games and he is hardly even a threat at the NBA level, but being able to shoot at the most basic level is a very good start. He didnâ€™t do enough to impress the Dallas Mavericks, but he landed a new 10-day contract with New Orleans Pelicans. Hopefully something happens there.
