Wizards starting to fade?

Anderson Varejao

The curious case of Anderson Varejao starts at week four, where he started for the Wizards and put up some pretty nice numbers. Varejao scored 8.8 points and 10 rebounds per game and had a nice +7 average over five games. The next week he would boost his rebounding numbers, grabbing 14 per game, and keeping his 8 points per game average. Week six he was back at it scoring 7 points a game, and grabbing 10 rebounds a game. His play really helped the team, and GM Darko took notice early, thus keeping him in the starting lineup. But then Varejao was injured for week seven. He would return in week eight, but things just weren't the same. His scoring was down to 5.5 points per game, and his rebounds were nearly cut in half, only managing to pull 6.3 rebounds per game. GM Darko took notice and Varejao quickly lost his starting gig to Nene Hilario for week nine. Now Varejao's numbers are even worse. Of course he is only getting half the playing time, but shooting 25% and only getting 2 rebounds a game with 2 points over the last three games, there is something wrong with him. GM Darko sat down with the guy, and they had a good conversation about what is going on with the big man. The energy is just not there anymore. If Varejao wants to get back into the starting lineup he will have to prove it to Darko. The team is on thin ice, and is losing ground of that playoff spot.
Wizards

With the Wizards losing sight of the playoffs recently, you have to wonder if GM Darko will break up the club. But a lot of that depends on if Carmelo Anthony would waive his no trade clause to be shipped to another team. Melo and Gasol are the two big names on the Wizards that could get Darko the young guys or picks that they would need for a Wizards reboot. But ESPN says that Darko isnt willing to throw in the towel yet. But you have to wonder if they will clean house near the trade deadline. GM Darko has even been thinking of hanging up the clip board and spending more time with his family and friends. But Darko has no intentions of quitting just yet. He has to make sure the 2017 1st rounder that is owed to Dallas gets there at least. If the Wizards fail to make the playoffs this year, Darko could blow it up, or just retire. Marc Gasol and Melo haven't quit on their coach, and the Wizards just added names like Rondo and Green to their roster, we think there might be a shake up in the roster soon, especially after the recent play of the team the last week or two.
