Why hasn’t the King resigned?

Lebron James is the best player in the game, and most notably 1 of the 2 biggest free agents to become available to the market. Where is Lebron’s head at? Does he plan to test the market? He is home, near friends and family. He can easily demand one of the biggest contracts the NBA has ever offered, and rightly so, he deserves it.

Cleveland’s record can’t really be questioned, it has had sustained success with multiple championships. Last year 2 years have seen them contend and even dominate at times, they could be only 1 or 2 players away from holding up the trophy once again.

Does Lebron believe in Cleveland? That could be the biggest question, does he see more rings in the future at home or would moving to another super team allow more sustained success and help him build his legacy.

A change in GM could be also on his mind? We ask PK what his thoughts are:

Do you think Lebron is coming back to Cleveland?

Yes, he loves it here. Every conversation we have had has been positive and always looking to the future. We will pay Lebron the max, no questions asked. Cleveland believe in Lebron and would like him to finish his career here.

Why do you think Lebron hasn’t signed yet?

I don’t think it’s a question of where Lebron will sign, I just believe he is having a well-earned rest. I think he is looking over the best things for the team, allowing the most flexibility we can within the Salary cap allowing myself to bring in additional players that can help win the ultimate prize.

Would the length of the contract have any bearing?

Yes, we obviously want him to stay long term, signing a 5 year max contract would be a no brainer for us. Lebron may have other things in mind, as the Salary Cap again increases next year, it may be in his best interest just to sign for another year before getting a Max extension.

All the pictures of Lebron partying, will this affect his preparation for next season?

Lebron is off enjoying time with friends and family. He deserves it and we wouldn’t want it any other way. He is the ultimate professional, and I am sure he will come back in awesome condition ready to have another crack at the title.
