Warriors Draft review

Welcome back Warriors fans...long time without a article.
But last weekend’s Draft gave us some stuff to write about...so let’s get started.

Our Golden State Warriors participated in this year’s draft without a first round pick, like last year.
We gave our pick away in exchange for Marcus Smart last season.

But the management tried to find some usable pieces for our team with 3 second round picks.
We heard about some trade offers, with the opportunity to sell some picks or pack them together with other pieces to trade up in the draft.
None of this happened, the Warriors ended the Draft with exactly the picks they had before.

There were some players on the wish list that doesn´t fall to the position of our draft picks, especially Paul Zipser and A.J. Hammons.
And 2 main goal since months wasn´t even available at draft night.
But the management has done some nice choices out of the pool of available players in our opinion.

The Warrios selected With the pick...

#44 Jackson Demetrius a 6-1  Point Guard out of Notre Dame.
To get at least one PG out of the draft was an important goal, after long spans without a real PG last season our management wanted to make sure we have multiple options on the PG/SG position.
Jackson Demetrius was handled as a lottery pick sometimes, sometimes at the end of the first or start of the second round.
So we were a little lucky to grab him at #45 in the end.
He could be a good fit as second or third option at the PG spot of our team, we are excited to see how he will fit in here and develop.

#45 Zimmerman Stephen a 6-11 Center out of UNLV
To land a real Center was a goal, too. Also to have a player as a second or third option at this position.
Zimmerman has been compared to Tyler Zeller or Raef LaFrentz, he was also projected as a late first round pick.

#50 Paige Marcus a 6-1  Point Guard out of North Carolina
Another point guard to have more depth at this position.
But it is very likely to happen, that he don´t will be on the roster this season, he could start in the D-League.
We will see if he will get a chance to find a roster spot during this season.

...

So three new, interesting guys to watch!
we will have a chance for a first look at them during the NLL summer league (July 8-18) !

Stay tuned Warriors fans!
