Roster - Washington Wizards

The season is over and GM Darko had his ups and downs as the Wizards GM this year. It got to the point where the GM even thought about stepping away from his position with the team. But he stuck it through, and here we are. Yes the Wizards finished once again at the bottom of the eastern conference. But the Wizards made a step in the right direction this year. They won 30 games, and that might not seem like much, but to the Wizards its the most wins they have had in a season since their championship run. Its progress and a step in the right direction. This season they also acquired two superstars in Marc Gasol and Carmelo Anthony that they can build around. Young guys like Marcus Morris and Matthew Dellavedova have shown that they can step up and play at a high level, but still have to grow, and become more consistent and experienced. Trey Burke is still a question mark with this team. He was brought in to be the teams future point guard, and he shined in some games. But again with the other two young guys, he also needs to become more consistent every time he laces up his shoes.

What does the future hold? Well the Wizards have seven key players all coming back next season. One of those guys is the big man in the middle Marc Gasol who had a season ending injury at the end of last season. But he is scheduled to be healthy when next years season opens up. The only big questions is will the Wizards be able to resign Matthew Dellavedova and Kevin Martin. Dellavedova is all set to be a Wizard next year even if he tries to sign somewhere else due to he will be a restricted free agent. Kevin Martin on the other hand could leave to sign with a contender. But with the minuted the Wizards gave him he might like his position with the team. GM Darko should have 40 GM points to throw at Martin if his loyalty doesnt dip too much. Its going to be a lot of wait and see this offseason for the Wizards. But it looks like the main core of players will be back and ready to make another leap forward, hopefully into the playoffs next season.
