In an another close battle, Orlando Magic guard Marcus Smart was voted Rookie of the Year for 2014-15. He beat out the runner-up, Andrew Wiggins of the Utah Jazz, by two votes.

Smart finished with 93 votes overall, including 14 first place votes, while Wiggins ended up with 91 votes, including 10 first place votes. Nerlens Noel of the Minnesota Timberwolves finished in third place with 36 votes overall, including 3 first place votes.

Smart played in 69  games this season for the Magic (and 7 in Atlanta before being traded), averaging 25.8 points per game, finishing second in the league in three pointers made and 12th in the field goals made. Smart was one of the few bright spots in a dismal season for the Magic.
