GERALD GREEN
Season averages to date: 27ppg, 3.9rbp, 2.0ap, 1.4spg, 0.6bpg on 43%
shooting from the field and 36% from deep.
Nicknamed G-Money, Gerald Green has spent the season getting
buckets for his Western Conference power house team, the LA Lakers. He is a flat out scorer, currently ranked #1
in the NLL in 3-Pointers made, #8 in Field Goals made and #10 in Points Per
Game. It is his ability to score in a
variety of ways that really impresses, from his silky smooth 3-point shot to
his flamboyant athletic dunks which have seen him capture dunk contest wins in various
organizations throughout his career. To
cap off his scoring threat, he is shooting 95% from the Free Throw Line this
season, ensuring any opposing team will be punished somehow, someway.
It’s no surprise to see Green receive the 4th
highest votes in the West, earning respect from rival GM’s for his outstanding
season so far. What is a little
surprising is that he will be the only player representing the LA Lakers, a
team that is 2.5 games clear at the top of the Western Conference
Standings. Rest assured Lakers fans,
Gerald Green will represent to the fullest.
He may be surrounded by the likes of Melo, Rose and Ellis on game day
but it would be a fool who would bet against him coming away as the top scorer
for the team from the West. Gerald Green
will get his shots up and if it’s a good day, we will all be treated to a
spectacular show
(Not so) Fun Fact – Gerald Green had his right ring finger
amputated in the 6th grade after a dunk attempt on a makeshift ring went
horribly wrong. While the result was
gruesome, he certainly didn’t let it affect his ability to become one of the most
dominate scoring players in the NLL today.
