Home is where the
wins are?
After the game 2-demolition job of his Lakers, we caught up
with GM Greeny at the airport before he boarded a flight back to LA for games 3
and 4 at Staples Centre.
Greeny, Thanks for your time. How are you feeling after the first
2 games of the series in OKC?
Greeny:
Obviously we are disappointed. We are 2-0 down. We would have loved to take a
game and head back home 1-1, but that’s not the case. We knew all a long we
would have to win our 3 games at home and try and steal one on the road. We
have stolen a road game yet but we now have a chance to go back to staples and
win our 2 home games and get the series back on level terms.
Are you worried about the way in which your side has fallen
behind 2-0?
Greeny:
Losing any game isn’t ideal, And losing 2 by a combined margin of 55 points
including the huge 37 points loss in game 2. We knew this was going to be a
tough challenge. We were competitive in game one and were just over came by a
great side down the stretch. Game 2 wasn’t what we stand for as a club. We were
embarrassed and I am very confident in the boy’s ability to bounce back and
restore pride. We went 23-18 in the regular season, but the year before that we
went 30-11. We know how to defend home court and we plan on doing so in games 3
and 4.
A very positive look on things from the Lakers GM. We won’t
write off the Lakers just yet. They have won back-to-back chips. We know what
they can do. But at this point in time, it looks like The Thunder have all the
answers at this point.
Game 3 is on Saturday at Staples and we will catch up with
Thunder GM Ben after that to grab his take on the series and what, by that
point, may be the eve of a series clinching game 4. Stay tuned for more updates
as the series progresses.
