New Orleans, LA - The 2017 NLL AllStar Game was a big success, with the game closely contested until the final minutes.

1st Quarter Highlights

The East got out to a 17-12 lead on the strength of solid rebounding, but the West stayed tough. Harrison Barnes threw down a monster dunk to give the West a 20-19 lead. The Unibrow would pick up 2 first quarter fouls, sending him to the bench with 2:14 to go in the quarter. The East held a 28-27 margin as the buzzer sounded. Kyrie Irving had 10 in the quarter.

2nd Quarter Highlights
After a Porzingis jumper, Mike Conley hits a corner 3PT to tie the game at 32. Paul George crosses up Melo for a monster dunk. An alley-oop to Kevin Durant was a thing of beauty from Steph Curry, but the East still trailed 39-42. Jimmy Butler passed to a cutting Anthony Davis for a huge dunk. A John Wall lay-in puts the West up 51-41. The West is shooting over 60% in the half. The East get 9 straight to cut the lead to 51-50. Russell Westbrook fouled with 2.7 seconds to go, and Russ hits all three to tie the game.

Half Time Notables
West shooting 55% to the East's 45%. West has 25-20 rebounding advantage. Irving with 14, Anthony Davis has a double double already with 11-11.

3rd Quarter Highlights
Irving picks up where he left off and hits the opening shot of the 3rd. Anthony Davis blows by his defender for the layup, then Steph Curry puts in a lay-in of his own. A Damian Lillard 3 with just over 5:00 to go puts the East up by 2. Paul George's 3 ties it up at 74, then the Beard hits his own to give the East a 77-74 lead. Towns hits a 3 to put the East up 81-78. Westbrook alley-oops to DeRozan, and Kemba Walker closes out the scoring in fashion with a 3-quarter court shot - again, a tied game at 83!

4th Quarter Highlights

Westbrook floated ties it at 87. Towns rejects a Davis shot in the lane, hits the next shot to tie the game at 89. Durant 3PT puts East up 97-91, the biggest margin in the game. Curry to Irving with a bullet pass for a 101-93 lead. True-to-life Cousins fouls out with about 3:40 to go. East up 106-102 with 3:30 to go. The West go cold, down 110-102 with 2:00 to go. The West has no answers at the end and go down 116-106.

Final Musings

MVP Kyrie Irving finishes with 20 points and 5 assists.

Both teams shot over 50%, but the East had 10 3PT to the West's 5. Both teams had double digit leads in the game. Kudos to the East bench for outscoring the West's by 8 points. The East also shot 80% from the foul line, while the West only shot 55%.
