JMac
claimed the equal 2nd number of 1st place votes for the award
but beat out Nenjabin of the Thunder on preference voting to comfortably claim
the award. JMac was an ever active GM on the trade front and working on his
teams strategy to get them as far as he could into the offseason and it really
showed come playoff time as they cashed in their leagues 2nd best
record to beat out the 76ers (league’s top record) and make it into the Finals.
Trades are always on the fore front of JMac’s mind, and some setting up the
roster for this season included the addition of Trevor Ariza, Al Horford,
Al-faruq Aminu, Taj Gibson and a handful of smaller moves where pieces flew all
around the place to set the roster as it stands. Arguably his master stroke was
a couple of seasons removed now, in bringing in Kevin Durant, but to produce
what they did this year deserves the top award.
The
Celts were beaten in the Finals unfortunately by the defending Champs in the
Lakers, but they’ll be back as strong as ever next season.
Congratulations JMac,
NLL’s 2015/16 GM of the Year!
