So Greenmig opted for defense and sent Gerald Green to the bench. But
this didn't produce desired results as defense got even worse, DRTG for
game 2 was 115.2, down from 113.83. Surprisingly they did better on
offense, with Lee taking the big bite on offense, scoring 19 on 14
shots, up from zeros across the board in game one.
Klemmelo stuck to his game plan and probably won't make any big changes for his
first home game. But there might be a room for improvement. Bogut and
Love were rather putrid on offense, going 3-15, only this time Plumlee
joined the party with empty 8 minutes. But it doesn't matter as long as
his back-court plays at that level. Clarkson and Thompson scored 65,
went 5-8 from the line and Clarkson made 13 freebies. Hill and Lee
weren't bad, but Lakers still lost 27 points in that match-up.
So
what's up next? New profiles? It's obviously more then just a fluke,
Kings look in control and we can't say winning two games, rather
convincingly, is just a coincidence. We'll probably see Green in the
starting five again, you can't play an all star just 12 minutes,
specially not one that needs the ball to be effective. Other then that?
Maybe a small ball experiment?
Klemmelo warns about putting away
the brooms but also feels confident in his team and the match-ups on
any given night. Greenmig's comments has been largely absent, we'll
probably hear about white noise, dark matter if he manages to tie the
series. I'd still put my money on Lakers, the regular season series is a
bit much to forget. But who doesn't like the underdog, a 1-8 upset?
