Three Point Shootout 2008
Raja Bell's jumper was falling at the 2008 NLL Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, posting up a record 27 points in the final round. Allen Iverson's favorite cliché applied: The hoop was an ocean and the ball was a stone.Kevin Durant came in second, but didn't manage to put up a fight in the final round, finishing with 11.
Round 1
Michael Redd opened the shootout, struggling through first 3 racks he still managed to put up a solid 18 point performance.
Durant followed with an impressive run of 14 straight made baskets in a row, taking the lead with 21.
Joe Johnson, 15, and JJ Redick, 17, were a bit short. ason Richardson, NLL leader in three point percentage, was the biggest disappointment finishing last with 13 points.
Raja Bell was the last player in round one, showcasing his range with 26 points, he converted first 14 balls.
Round 2
The final round featured Raja Bell vs Kevin Durant. Durant, obviously extatic with his surprising performance in the qualifying round, failed to compete with red hot Bell.
Raja Bell struggled from rack Nr. 1 but converted next 20 shots, a deed for the record books.
"I'm really happy wih my performance today, showing the world that i'm not just Kobe-stopper but also an reliable shooter. When I'm in a zone, i feel there's not a shot I can't make," said the champion.
